The Marketplace of Ideas
Monday, February 21st, 2005So Paul stood up in front of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I see that you are very religious in every way.” Acts 17:22 (ISV) As you can see from the above quotation, that the Apostle Paul went to where the men of Athens gathered for discussion on topics of importance in their ancient world. You can read further about what different kinds of people were there when he made this statement, and you can read further about his conclusions in the rest of the chapter.
The question that must be asked in our day is, “Where is the marketplace of ideas in the 21st century”? The new modern marketplace of ideas can be found on the internet at sites such as this one.
