How To Help Judge Roberts

The Center For Individual Freedom has an excellent suggestion page for those want to help in getting Judge John Roberts confirmed to the Supreme Court. (HT to Confirm Them)

Their request is to, Send a letter of support for Judge Roberts’ Supreme Court nomination to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The following are their suggestions which should be implemented immediately:

“The White House and Senate leaders have repeatedly told CFIF that the most critical thing organizations and individuals can do to help with Judge Roberts’ nomination is to send letter of support to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

If you’re able to send a letter of support, it’s critical that the Judiciary Committee receive it as soon as possible.

Here are some basic instructions for preparing and sending your letters in order to make sure they are properly received:

1) Write a persuasive, professional letter making the case for why you think Judge Roberts is an outstanding nominee. It need not be very long. A page or two will be plenty. CFIF suggests you stress Judge Roberts unparalleled record of arguing before the High Court, his sterling education, and his substantial experience in private practice, with the Solicitor General’s office, and as a Federal Appeals Court Judge.

2) Address the letter to Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter and Ranking Minority Member Patrick Leahy as follows:

The Honorable Arlen Specter
Chairman
Committee on the Judiciary
224 Dirksen Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510

The Honorable Patrick Leahy
Ranking Minority Member
Committee on the Judiciary
152 Dirksen Senate Office Building
Washington, DC 20510

Please send the letters by fax. E-mail isn’t the best method for submitting a letter of support and regular mail takes months to arrive due to security concerns.

3) Fax the letter to Chairman Specter — 202-224-9102

4) Fax the letter to Senator Leahy — 202-224-9516

Make sure to fax the letter to both Chairman Specter and Senator Leahy!

5) Fax the letter to the Office of Public Affairs at the White House — 202-456-2130.

6) Fax the letter to the Senate Republican Conference — 202-224-6984.

7) Paste the text of the letter into the body of an e-mail and send it to info@cfif.org.

8) Fax the letter to your home state Senators. Click here to find your home state Senators’ fax numbers.”

Please take the time to follow the suggestions above to help get Judge John Roberts confirmed to the United States Supreme Court.
