Why do I call this the True Gift of Love? I think it is quite obvious that as we look at the world around us, we can see that man can pretty much screw things up all on his own. Man, being left to his own devices will always choose according to the dictates of his nature. The nature of man is sin. That is the legacy that we have inherited from our father Adam. From the beginning of time since Adam ate of the forbidden fruit, we have all inherited his sinful nature.

What is sin? Sin is disobedience to God. Adam was forbidden to eat the fruit of one particular tree, but he disobeyed God’s command and was cast out of the Garden of Eden. Because of that one act of disobedience, he plunged all his posterity into separation (Read the rest of the story below the fold...)

Today marks the thirtieth anniversiary of the day when God by His Grace reached out and saved a rebellious sinner and set him on a new path for His glory. If you don’t know what that means or would like to know, you may read here, which relates the story of John Newton, who authored “Amazing Grace”.

We are thankful for God’s grace, and mercy that He should save a sinner like me.
